Grey or Cinnamon Scented Myrtle
Backhousia myrtifolia

A native of Queensland’s subtropical rain forests, it prefers free draining soil rich in organic matter. Plant in a full sun to shady position. It will tolerate a light frost once mature and established.
An small evergreen tree to 3-7 metres with a spread of 2-4 metres. It has small glossy, dark green, heavily cinnamon scented leaves. The flowers are cream appearing in dense clusters in mid summer.
Cinnamon Myrtle leaves may be used to add flavour to foods or teas instead of conventional cinnamon spice.
Offered is a packet of 30 seeds and Grownotes to assist you to cultivate this strongly scented small tree.
