A hybrid from Callistemon paludosus of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania where it prefers medium, moist soils in a protected position. It is frost resistant but dislikes drought.
An evergreen shrub growing to a height of 3 metres with a spread of 2 metres. The stem is sturdy with sprawling branches;
the leaves are greyish green, narrowly lanceolate and 6 cm long; the flowers are reddish violet, in attractive heads in summer.
As this is seed from a hybrid plant, the seedlings will vary from the original plant because of genetic variation. Most of this variation is minor and rarely results in major differences from the original.
Offered is a packet of approx 200 seeds with Grownotes to assist you to cultivate this strikingly coloured Callistemon.
